"The Day of the Dolphin" is the seventh level of The Simpsons Game.

Description[edit]

After the previous level "Enter the Cheatrix" is finished, three more levels open up in Springfield. These can be taken in any order, but this is the next level following the story.

Synopsis[edit]

"Bart and Lisa try to stop the dolphin invasion in Springfield caused by Kang and Kodos."

Plot[edit]

Kang and Kodos have invaded Springfield and used a laser to make dolphins attack humans. They take over Paradise Pier, where Bart and Lisa rescue Captain McCallister, who is tied to a post by the dolphins. He escapes in his boat and tells them to meet him at a secret hatch leading to the Paradise Aquarium. Bart and Lisa fight their way through the pier, beating dolphins along the way.

They encounter King Snorky, the dolphin king, sitting on a dunk tank throne inside the Aquarium. While Captain McCallister and Bart fend off the dolphins, Lisa uses her Hand of Buddha power to place a giant jellyfish to electrify the water. Bart then uses his Robo-Bart power to shoot the target on Snorky's throne, dunking and killing him. Captain McCallister thanks them, almost breaking the fourth wall, while Kang and Kodos watch from their spaceship, casually eating egg rolls.

Gameplay[edit]

Xbox 360/PS3 Version[edit]

You'll start at one end of the pier with your goal at the other. Instead of facing the endless dolphin horde head-on, switch to Lisa and use the Hand of Buddha to flick dolphins and drop naval mines on them. To clear the path, flick a dolphin at the large billboard on its side. Enter the boathouse, slide down the rope on the right to find a dinghy, and shoot the red target at the far end as Bart to lower the second dinghy. Jump across to the main part of the pier. Face more dolphins and another Hand of Buddha puzzle. Use Lisa to flick dolphins onto the three large billboards over some booths. Once the billboards are down, lift them and place them on the wooden posts at the pier's north end to create a bridge. Hop on the Hand of Buddha on top of a booth and flick dolphins at the swinging dragon ride, then defeat the remaining dolphins. Use Bartman's grapple to reach the hook on the billboard past the dragon, zipline across to a wooden platform, and pull the lever to open the hatch.

Once you're inside the Aquarium, let the Captain handle the dolphins while you guide Lisa and Bart to the platform on the right. Hit the button in front of the tank to seal it, then climb up to the Hand of Buddha. Lift a giant jellyfish, drop it into the electrified tank, then place it in King Snorky's tank. Quickly switch to Bart and shoot the red target under the platform to dunk Snorky in the electrified water. Repeat the dunk three times to defeat King Snorky.

Wii/PS2/PSP Version[edit]

you'll start at one end of the pier, with your goal at the other. Clear out the dolphin horde to move forward. In the boathouse, slide down the rope on the right to find a dinghy. Look for a red target at the far end of the pier sections, and shoot it as Bart to lower the second dinghy. Jump across to the main pier. Use the Hand of Buddha to place rowboats on nearby pylons, creating a bridge to reach the button. Hit the button to open the gate. Continue forward, defeating dolphins until you reach the spinning octopus. Fight off the dolphin waves until the scene with the Sea Captain and King Snorky. Use the rowboats to reach the fishing boat, then hop into the hatch to enter.

Inside the Aquarium, use the central Hand of Buddha to place jellyfish models on the platforms to the right. Hit the lever in front of the right tank to reveal a platform. Take Lisa, jump on the jellyfish, and reach the Hand of Buddha on the high ledge. Use this Hand of Buddha to move the electric eel from the center tank to the one under King Snorky. Finally, switch to Bart, shoot the target under Snorky, and dunk him into the electrified water.

DS Version[edit]

This one's straightforward but takes a bit of time. Tap and hold each dolphin with the stylus, then flick them away, ideally to the left or right. Keep them away from Lisa, as they can hurt her quickly if they get too close.

Krusty Koupons[edit]

The Marine World Trophy

1. Shoot the targets in the Tipsy Balls stand at the start of the pier.
2. After knocking down the billboard, go to the left of the boathouse and find ropes to climb to the Koupon.
3. Shoot the targets at the Pop-N-Win stand.
4. After pulling the lever to open the pipe, turn around and head over the platforms and use the Grappling Hook.
5. Shoot the target underneath a whale where Lisa can collect a Malibu Stacy Seal. Jump up the jellyfish then use the steam from the blowhole to reach another whale with the Koupon on.
6. Press a button on the tank of the left side of the aquarium then climb onto the new platform. Climb another ladder then use the rope ladders to get across to the Koupon.
7. On the right side of Snorky's tank there is a clam that emits steam. Use the steam to get to a rope ladder and climb it to the Koupon.

Finding all seven rewards the Marine World Trophy.

Malibu Stacy Seals[edit]

The Marine Biology Stacy Trophy

1. On the left side of the first boathouse.
2. Behind the hatch that the lever Bart pulls opens up.
3. When in the aquarium, jump down to the left straight away.
4. Use the bouncy jellyfish to get on top of a whale.
