Howard Hughes Jr. is a man who wanted to buy a clock from Homer for two-million dollars.

After Homer and Lisa returned to the historical society with Jebediah Springfield's confession, Hollis Hurlbut dismissed the document as an obvious forgery. He explained that historical research was plagued by hoaxes and compared the supposed confession to the Howard Hughes will, the Hitler Diaries, and the Emancipation Retraction.[1]
