New Jersey is one of the 50 states in the US. Its capital city is Trenton and its most populous city is Newark.
History[edit]
The mental patient who said he was Michael Jackson, and went to stay with the Simpson family, eventually revealed himself as Leon Kompowsky, a bricklayer from Paterson, New Jersey.[1]
New Jersey was seen on a map when other contestants entering an essay competition were seen.[2]
Pirate Hans Sprungfeld (later assumed the name Jebediah Springfield) tried to kill George Washington in 1781 in Trenton.[3]
After getting run out of Florida, the Simpson family were trying to decide on where to go for their next vacation. They were looking at a map of the US that had most of the states crossed out, which were apparently all the states that the Simpsons were no longer allowed to enter, including New Jersey.[4]
Homer drove with Bart to New Jersey to the Edison Museum initially to destroy Thomas Edison's chair with two hinged legs on the back, making it impossible to tip over backwards, but decided against it.[5]
Lisa pleaded at the town meeting to spare Mr. Burns from everyone else's revenge since amnesia had caused him to become sweet and harmless and not the same remorseless monster who tormented the whole town. A The Jersey Shore-type man stood up and said, "Yeah, Seaside Heights [New Jersey] ain't Maui, uh, you take what you can get. Whoa!"[6]
