Little Monty, previously known as Branford II, was one of twenty-five Greyhound puppies that were born to Santa's Little Helper and She's the Fastest.

Along with his littermates, Little Monty was born in the Simpson home and spent his early life there. While living with the Simpsons, he was known as Branford II. During this period, he showed an unusual habit of standing on his hind legs.
