During a United States State Department presentation on declining American–Australian relations, Evan Conover reviewed the short-lived American obsession with Australian culture through a slideshow of failed marketing trends from the late 1980s. One slide highlighted Australian football personality Mark "Jacko" Jackson holding an Energizer battery.[1]
