Character Information
|
Aeropos Walkov is a Macedonian baseball player.
History[edit]
As a child, Walkov helped his father, the village rat catcher. During this time, he developed a unique two-handed pitching style by throwing rocks at the rats. He also developed his immense batting power by hitting rats into Greece, where he once hit the Parthenon, knocking over a pillar.
In his adult life, Walkov became a baseball player and signed on with the Minsk Golems. However, his lifelong dream was to play in the USA. Many US teams tried to convince Walkov to sign on with them, including teams using celebrity endorsements from Chris Rock and Danny Trejo, but he didn't find himself impressed by any of them. He then received a videotape from Moe and Abraham Simpson, who made a video in an attempt to get Walkov to move to the Springfield Isotopes. Moe knew Macedonian, which he learned from his grandmother, and he used it in the video. The Springfield Tire Yard also made an appearance in the video, which reminded Walkov of the flaming tire yard in his village. This convinced Walkov to move to Springfield.
Walkov joined the Isotopes and immediately became a big hit in the town. Baseball saw a surge in popularity again, and the Isotope Stadium, which was rebranded as the Toblerone Stadium, filled out to see Walkov's first game. Moe told Bart that he could see Walkov after the game, but he never got a chance to, as Walkov was on the bus to his next game while learning English from Family Guy. Eventually, the Isotopes and baseball as a whole started getting more and more sponsorships and advertisements, particularly from sports gambling websites. Moe then found out that Walkov had been gambling on baseball games after learning about it from the advertisements, which is against baseball rules.
Walkov, feeling extremely guilty about breaking the rules, decided to hold a press conference where he admitted to the scandal. During the conference, Moe falsely translated what Walkov was saying, and the sports reporters bought his excuses. However, Grampa then entered the conference and revealed to Moe that Bart had been gambling on baseball games too. Moe felt guilty, so he admitted Walkov's gambling and quit as Walkov's translator. However, after a 45-minute investigation, Walkov was cleared of wrongdoing and the blame was put fully on Moe. Walkov, looking for a fresh start, then signed on with the newly renamed San Francisco Draft-Pigs.[1]
