When Joe Quimby won the Springfield mayoral election, he said "As E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial said, we 'phoned home' with a message of hope."[1]
On a televised comedy show, a man said that if Mr. T and E.T. had a baby they could call it Mr. E.T., and he would say "I pity the fool that don't phone home!". Homer saw it and said that he sure wouldn't want to be Mr. T right then.[2]
