New York is one of the 50 states in the US. Its capital city is Albany, and its most populous city is New York City.

History[edit]

Homer watched the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade held in New York City on television.^[1]

A boy in Queens entered an essay competition to win a trip to Washington, D.C.^[2]

The new Mr. Plow commercial showed a New York City skyline with the World Trade Center.^[3]

The Simpson family once traveled to New York City so that Homer could retrieve his car after Barney went on a joyride with it.^[4]

After getting run out of Florida, the Simpson family tried to decide on where to go for their next vacation. They looked at a map of the US that had most of the states crossed out, which were apparently all the states the Simpsons were no longer allowed to enter.^[5]
