"The Past and the Furious" is the fourteenth episode of season 36 of The Simpsons and the seven-hundred and eighty-second episode overall. It was released on Disney+ on February 12, 2025. The episode was written by Rob LaZebnik and directed by Michael Polcino. It guest stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt as young Mr. Burns.

Synopsis
- "Lisa travels back in time to 1923 and discovers that the Springfield Mini Moose, once key to the town’s ecosystem, were driven to extinction in 1925. Teaming up with young Monty Burns, Lisa works to save the moose, but her actions unintentionally shape his future as a ruthless tycoon."
Plot
In an alternate-reality, all plant life seem to be gone, and Lisa and other environmentalists try to find some place where something would grow, and they meet at a road where a daisy grew, but Mr. Burns intervenes and breaks it because he decides what grows in the land he owns. Lisa grows depressed about it and a therapist takes her to Aubrey Medical Plaza, there she proposes Lisa to use EMDR stimulators, which take her mind back to 1923.
There, she is in the body of Edith, and is invited to play her sax at the Little Moouse Club, when suddenly they invite Mr. Burns to sing, showing him young and beloved. Afterwards, outside, she asks why it's called Little Moouse Club, and they tell her it's because of the Springfield Mini Moose and people have declared the need to hunt them. Once a moose send dust on her, she sneezes and wakes up from the dream. The therapist suggests taking a journal of her dreams.
Back at home, she discovers that what the places she dreamt existed, and that Edith was her great-grandmother. She then goes to the place where the club was (now Moe's Tavern), and sees that what she draw in the past with Mr. Burns was real. She then goes to Professor Frink to talk about what happened to her, and thanks to a video she discovers that the mini moose went extinct in 1925, and they were the base of the ecosystem and thus she goes back to 1923 to save them.
