The Esquilax is claimed to be a horse with a head of a rabbit and the body of a rabbit by Chief Wiggum. It is, however, just a rabbit and there is nothing mythical about it at all.
Behind the Laughter[edit]
According to Bill Giese, who assisted in naming many Pokémon, Snorlax derives part of its English name from the Esquilax.[1]
