Baal is an ancient deity worshipped by various pagan cultures.
History
On April 1, 1022, pagans were peacefully celebrating the New Year in honor of Baal when they were interrupted by settlers who attempted to play pranks on them. This event is considered to be the origin of April Fools' Day.
