History
After Moe won the Duff Beer-tender of the Year Award, Phil Angelides went to take his photo. After taking Moe's photo, he made a disgusted noise then told Duffman that they couldn't put Moe's photo on the calendar.
Behind the Laughter
The name came from Phil Angelides, California State Treasurer from 1999 to 2007 who run for Governor of California in 2006 yet lost to Arnold Schwarzenegger, who was also a friend of creator Matt Groening.
