Terrance is a retired British spy for MI5.
History
In 1970, Terrance was one of the youngest and brightest MI5 agents. He had a mission in Prague which resulted in only eleven dead. Terrance then took over the investigation on the Grey Fox, an American turned Russian spy. The Grey Fox was a member of the Flying Hellfish and it was Terrance's job to work out who it was. Terrance went to each small town in America with a nuclear power plant to track down the Grey Fox. 50 years later, Terrance arrived in Springfield, thinking that Abraham Simpson was the Grey Fox.
After Louise moved out of the Springfield Retirement Castle, Terrance got her room to get close to Abe. When Homer and Abe were looking around the room, Terrance hid in the closet until they opened it, finding him. Terrance then introduced himself to Homer and Abe and went to Moe's Tavern with Homer so they could get to know each other. At Moe's, Terrance told the barflies all about his time at MI5 and how he wanted to redeem his father's name, as his father was a terrible spy. That night, Terrance called the Simpson house and told Homer to meet him to find out the awful truth about Abe.
Homer went to see Terrance where Terrance told Homer all about the Grey Fox, and that he thought Abe was the Grey Fox. After he asked Homer several questions about Grampa, Homer realized that Grampa may indeed be a spy. Terrance then got Homer to meet him at the Springfield Harbor to show him proof. At the harbor, Terrance was dressed as an old lady so he could show Homer the truth about Abe. After seeing Grampa swap canes with another old man, and receive an envelope from some people, Homer believed that Grampa was a spy. Homer and Terrance then rode on the Ferris wheel together.
When Homer went to confront Grampa about him being a spy, he couldn't go through with setting Grampa up and tried to escape with him instead. Terrance then arrived at the Retirement Castle with a gun, and put Homer and Abe into the trunk of Homer's car before driving off. Meanwhile, Marge, Bart and Lisa went to the Retirement Castle to find Homer, Grampa and Terrance. Whilst there, Terrance's daughter, Hazel showed up and told them that Terrance had retired from MI5 but was a bit crazy in his old age. She then tracked Terrance down using his phone and Marge, Hazel and the police stopped him before he could hurt Homer and Grampa.
When Grampa saw how sad Terrance was when he realized that he had been a failure his whole life, Abe told Terrance that he was indeed the Grey Fox and that he had succeeded. Terrance became happy that he had completed his mission and Homer drove him back to Springfield whilst they sung "It's a Long, Long Way to Tipperary" together.
