Speedway Squad! In Color is a fictional TV show starring Mr. Burns and Mr. Smithers.
History
While struggling with guilt and heavy intoxication in the aftermath of the shooting of Mr. Burns, Waylon Smithers, Jr. experienced a vivid dream in which he and Burns were portrayed as undercover detectives on the hot rod racing circuit. The dream featured a fictional television series titled “Speedway Squad! In Color,” depicting the pair pursuing criminals at a racetrack while Burns fired a shotgun from a speeding vehicle. Smithers later awoke and realized the events had been part of a dream.
Behind the Laughter
"Speedway Squad! In Color!" is a reference to the crime TV show "Police Squad! In Color!"
