Plot
Scratchy shops at a mall and boards an escalator. Itchy arrives and nails Scratchy's feet to the escalator. Unable to move, Scratchy is carried underneath the escalator at the end, where his fur is torn off. Itchy sells Scratchy's fur at a nearby fur shop. A rich couple buys Scratchy's fur, but Scratchy confronts them and takes his fur back. He wraps his fur around himself and leaves the mall, only to be beaten by animal rights activists for wearing his own skin.
Behind the Laughter
This episode was written by Lisa Simpson and portrays animal rights activists as violent hoodlums that end up abusing animals. In later episodes, Lisa would be depicted as a supporter of animal rights organizations.
Goofs
- =When Scratchy is panicking as he nears the top of the escalator, one of his legs is severed, but in other shots of the episode, both Scratchy's legs are fine.
