Rand McNally is an American technology and publishing company.
History
When Lisa unwrapped Bart's globe made by Rand McNally during an argument about the Coriolis effect, Bart mistakenly believed "Rand McNally" was an actual country in the Southern Hemisphere. Lisa indulged the misunderstanding by falsely claiming the natives wore hats on their feet and that hamburgers ate people there, which Bart briefly accepted as fact.[1]
After Quimby learned about their new stance on dogs, he declared that Springfield would henceforth be known as the dog-loving capital of the world and said it would finally put the town on the map. His assistant asked why Springfield was not already on the map, but rather than explain, Quimby complained that he had made twenty calls to Rand McNally, and that the company still did not even know what state Springfield was in.[2]
