The Great Salt Lake is a salt lake in Utah northwest of Salt Lake City
History
During Lisa's visit to the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant during Go To Work With Your Parents Day, Homer showed her a map of nuclear sites around the country while working at his station. He explained that, as a safety inspector, he was responsible for changing most of the light bulbs representing the nuclear sites on the map. The map identified Harney Basin in Oregon; Arcata and two sites in Diablo Canyon, as well as Mojave and San Onofre in California; Twin Falls in Idaho; Battle Mountain, Egan Range, and Indian Springs in Nevada; Grand Canyon in Arizona; two sites in Salt Lake in Utah; and Oak Ridge in Tennessee.[1]
When Bart and Darcy were suggested to marry in Utah, he imagined them married and living in a cabin in Utah. In the imagination, Bart picked some salt from the Great Salt Lake.[2]
