Synopsis

Homer decides to start his own couples' cruise ship, but when the couples begin falling out with each other, he only makes their relationships worse.

Plot

Ned visits Homer to give him and Marge tickets for a couples' cruise that he and Maude were supposed to go on before Maude died. Marge wants to go on the cruise, but Homer is hesitant because he's scared of water after getting rabies from a raccoon. Marge tells Homer that he should go to Dr. Hibbert to cure his rabies and get rid of the raccoon.

Three days later, Homer and Marge arrive at Captain McCallister's Cruising Adventures for the cruise. When Homer sees a dolphin, Skipper, serving beer, he takes one and pours the other one into the dolphin's mouth. This causes Skipper to become drunk and attack Homer, Marge, and Captain McCallister. Soon, the boat is on fire and Skipper is arrested by the police, with Captain McCallister banning Homer from all of his future cruises. Homer decides that he wants to start his own cruise ship business. He goes to work at the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant and tells Smithers that he wants time off for his new business. At the Power Plant, Mr. Burns tells Smithers that he wants to get rid of his yacht, the Gone Fission. Homer tells Smithers that he'll take the yacht to the dump for him.

A week later, Homer has turned Burns' yacht into Homer's Super Yacht. However, Moe crashes a block of ice into it, causing the ship to sink. A week later, Homer gets ready for the cruise once again. Several couples board the ship, including Seymour Skinner and Edna Krabappel, Luann Van Houten and Pyro, Kirk Van Houten and Tenille, who is supposedly running late, Apu and Manjula, and a millionaire and his wife. The cruise starts and Edna immediately becomes annoyed with Seymour as he is wearing his suit and working. In an attempt to try and make their relationship stronger, Homer has Bart tell Skinner that Edna is cheating on him with Pyro. At dinner that night, things at the table are tense, and Skinner and Pyro start fighting. Meanwhile, Apu and Manjula realize they have nothing to talk about, and Homer suggests that they're not actually married, causing them to question their relationship. Luann becomes annoyed at Pyro for fighting and also storms off, while the millionaires argue with each other about money.

Soon, all the couples are arguing, which causes Bart to mutiny and try and take over from Homer, but he's thrown into a cell. After he's let out, Marge tells him that Lisa is navigating and Homer is trying to get the hang of the wheel, with him almost crashing into The Ship of Lost Souls. Meanwhile, the couples are still arguing with each other. Lisa then points out that a pirate ship is approaching them. Homer and Marge try to get help from the couples, but none of them feel like helping with their love lives in shambles. They then realize that the issues they had with each other weren't real, and everybody makes up with each other. The couples decide to attack the pirate ship to protect their loved ones.

After taking over the ship, they realize that the pirates are cardboard cutouts and that a dolphin was steering the ship. Lisa unmasks the captain to reveal Captain McCallister, who says that he wanted to ruin Homer's cruise like Homer ruined his. Tenille, Kirk's girlfriend, was also aboard the ship and asks if she missed anything. However, when Tenille and Captain McCallister see each other, the Captain reveals that Tenille was his wife who was thought to be lost at sea years ago. Reunited with each other, Tenille kisses Captain McCallister and everybody, with the exception of Kirk, is happy. As they start to go back to Homer's ship, Skipper takes control of the wheel while drinking and crashes the two ships into each other, causing them both to sink with the couples floating in life rings.
