Basketball's a Drag is a Bart Simpson Comics story that appears in Bart Simpson #78.
Synopsis
- "The Springfield Elementary girl's basketball team is headed for the city championship until it's star player, Lisa Simpson, gets injured. How far will Principal Skinner go to beat the team from Shelbyville?"
Plot
Because the budget forced Willie cut one from the school boy's team in basketball and Bart is the person even though he is one of the better players. Milhouse feels sorry for Bart and says that's a shame he's not a girl, they need more players. Lisa is one of the players in the school's girls 'teams and when she sprain her metacarpal and forced to give up playing for four to six weeks, Bart gets an idea how he can come up with the girls' team. Lisa looking for a replacement but can not find one and Springfield is only one game from the final against Shelbyville when Bart tells Lisa and Principal Skinner that he can replace Lisa. After Bart takes on a wig representing Lisa's hair understanding Skinner that it can works but Lisa thinks it is cheating. Lisa tell Bart these situations never turn out but after Bart taking on Lisa basketball clothing she think she make a convicing girl.
The next day at school is Bart with the girls team as Lisa and Ms. Pommelhorst celebrates her after the training but his teammates tell Bart that they know it's him but and he is only with thim so they can win, he maybe is a good player but it's not funny with him. Bart tell them then at sport is about winning. It is the final and Pommelhorst puts Lisa in offense to the girls disappointment for they can hardly do anything when he is on the pitch. Undet the game is Bart the best player but he gets sweaty and he lose the wig when he tries to wipe away the sweat and becomes exposed as Bart. Springfield is forfeits and Shelbyville wins. Gary Chalmers decides to give a punishment to both Skinner and Bart, they punishment is working towel boys in the boys' baskettball team.
