Saber-tooth Meadow was a once-undeveloped area of Springfield, before the Heavenly Hills Mall was built on the land. It was where a lot of fossils were dug up, and once, part of the area was the host to an archaeological dig by Springfield Elementary School students, where student Lisa Simpson found an 'angel'. It is possible that the area got its name from the large amount of fossils dug up in the area. Despite once having dry land, the area was known as a meadow.
