Sonic Youth is an American rock band from New York City, formed in 1981. They voiced themselves in the episode "Homerpalooza" as well as performing The Simpsons closing theme tune.
Sonic Youth were voted joint 23rd in IGN's "Top 25 Simpsons Guest Appearances" along with Cypress Hill, Peter Frampton and The Smashing Pumpkins.
