The Grand Canyon is a natural landmark and tourist attraction in Arizona.

During Lisa's visit to the Springfield Nuclear Power Plant during Go To Work With Your Parents Day, Homer showed her a map of nuclear sites around the country while working at his station. He explained that, as a safety inspector, he was responsible for changing most of the light bulbs representing the nuclear sites on the map. The map identified Harney Basin in Oregon; Arcata and two sites in Diablo Canyon, as well as Mojave and San Onofre in California; Twin Falls in Idaho; Battle Mountain, Egan Range, and Indian Springs in Nevada; Grand Canyon in Arizona; two sites in Salt Lake in Utah; and Oak Ridge in Tennessee.[1]
Tom Hanks once starred in a commercial that advertised a "new" Grand Canyon that would have been created after Springfield was blown up.[2]
