The haunted house is a large, frightening-looking house where the Simpson family spent one night in order to receive their inheritance from Great-Aunt Hortense Simpson.
History[edit]
After Great-Aunt Hortense died, the Simpson family learned that they could inherit her estate only if they spent one night in a haunted house. They arrived at the large, eerie house during a lightning storm, but Homer insisted that ghosts did not exist. Despite its frightening appearance, nothing supernatural happened during the night, and the family actually had a peaceful stay. The next morning, Homer said it was the best night's sleep he had ever had, while Lisa commented that the house's tap water tasted better than theirs. After completing the requirement, the family received $100 each, except Maggie.
