Play Information
|
chatterbaby was a play about Lisa Simpson's chatter account, chatterbaby. It was directed by Benson Scott.
History[edit]
Lisa started a successful chatter account under the name "chatterbaby", where she pretended to be Maggie and posted thought-provoking messages in the style of a baby. This led to the account gaining thousands of followers and caught the attention of three-time Tony Award winner Benson Scott. Benson told the Simpson family that he wanted to write a play based on Maggie and chatterbaby, which the family agreed to.
On the day of the play, Benson Scott had No Threat come onto the stage before the performance to perform their new song, "Chatterbaby, We Love You Maggie!". This was too much for Lisa, who interrupted the performance to tell everyone that she was behind the chatterbaby account. This led to Benson canceling the play and telling the Simpsons that he would sue them for the money he lost making it.
