"Grampa & the Kids" is the nineteenth short. It aired on The Tracey Ullman Show on January 10, 1988.
Plot
Homer pushes the kids to talk to Grampa. Grampa then tells the kids about stories in his life, such as having to walk 20 miles to school instead of taking the bus, sucking on pieces of wood instead of pacifiers, and listening to his grandfather tell entertaining stories too. Bart asks Grampa if his grandfather was a liar, but is then shoved off of his lap, while Grampa quips "No, but his lap was awful slippery".
Grampa then tells the story about a happy little elf. Bart, who's bouncing a ball asks if something bad can happen to the elf. Grampa goes on about the elf humming a happy little tune, before abruptly claiming the elf stopped, which startles Bart enough to bounce his ball through the window, breaking it. Upon asking why the elf stopped humming his tune, Grampa claims the elf realized he was actually a clumsy little elf, teasing Bart.
Bart asks Grampa to tell a scary story, but just as Grampa just begins his scary story, he suddenly "dies" of a heart attack. Lisa then believes that Bart killed Grampa, to which Bart denies this, claiming "Society killed Grampa". At the end of this act, Grampa opens one of his eyes, revealing to the audience that he's faking it.
Lisa asks Bart what execution method he would prefer between a gas chamber of the electric chair. Grampa then laughs and says he was just pulling their leg. Homer comes in thinking that everyone had a good time, just to see Bart faint in shock.
