- When Lisa says she wants to buy the Princess Pony Boudoir Beauty set, Comic Book Guy tells her that it is "music to my pointy Vulcan ears," a reference to the Vulcans from Star Trek.
- Lisa imagining fairies and Bart imagining talking mice are a reference to Cinderella.
- While making her dress, Lisa says "I am woman... hear me roar...", referencing the song "I Am Woman" by Helen Reddy.
- Bart sings "I'm a Man" by Bo Diddley while making his outfit.
- One of the girls is dressed similarly to Princess Leia from Star Wars.
