Apple Newton is a personal digital assistant.
History
During an academic assembly at Springfield Elementary School, Principal Skinner introduced a new system of academic alert cards intended to warn students and parents about declining grades. While Martin Prince enthusiastically praised the idea, Kearney turned to Dolph and told him to take a memo on his Newton reminding him to beat up Martin later.
Dolph used his Apple Newton to write the message, but the device incorrectly interpreted the handwriting and displayed the phrase “Eat up Martha” instead of “Beat up Martin.” Annoyed by the error, Dolph immediately threw the Newton across the auditorium. The device struck Martin in the head, causing him to cry out in pain while the other students watched the incident unfold.
