Springfield is a The Simpsons-themed area located at Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood. It consists of two rides, several carnival games, and restaurants, most of which are based on characters or locations found in the series.
In October 2007, the Kwik-E-Mart merchandise shop opened both at Universal Studios Florida and Hollywood. The following year, the main attraction in the area, The Simpsons Ride, opened at both parks in mid-May 2008. The first major expansion that included more Simpson-based areas and restaurants took place in June 2013 at Universal Studios Florida, while the grand opening at Universal Studios Hollywood took place in May 2015.
