The Screaming Monkey Medical Research Center, also known as the Screaming Monkey Research Labs, is a medical and scientific research lab in Springfield. It created a mutant parrot known as an Octoparrot. Homer went there to be a test subject. The doctors wondered why he was so stupid and in an x-ray found a crayon lodged in his brain. They removed it and Homer got much smarter apparently having his IQ increased by 50 points.
