- It's a parody of the film Bambi, where Barti is a parody of the main character Bambi.
- The narrator mentions Disney and the parents of the protagonists of their movies being killed in them.
Bong Joon Ho's This Side of Parasite
- It's a parody of the 2019 South Korean film Parasite.
- The title of The Itchy & Scratchy Show episode "D'oh Piercer" is a reference to Snowpiercer.
Nightmare on Elm Tree
- It's a parody of the film A Nightmare on Elm Street.
- The film was previously parodied in the segment "Nightmare On Evergreen Terrace" from Season 7 episode "Treehouse of Horror VI".
- Guardians of the Galaxy is shown at the drive-in and Groot appears on the screen.
- The walking tree mentions the Dutch elm disease.
- The Giving Tree appears.
- The news about the tree on Channel 6 News is called Splinter Cell, a reference to Tom Clancy's series of the same name.
- It also includes references to Little Shop of Horrors and The Wizard of Oz.
