History

Serak the Preparer once lent Kodos his cookbook while he was away. Kodos attempted to bake a boys and berry pie, but he failed and Kang ended up ordering pizza.

A large talking ape mentions the cookbook to Homer at an insane asylum.

Behind the Laughter

The book is a reference to the Twilight Zone episode, "To Serve Man" (based on the short story of the same name).
