Evelyn is the ex-girlfriend of Patty Bouvier.

After Lou and his sister pulled out of the yearly holiday the Van Houten family held in their villa in Costa Rica, Patty and Evelyn went along instead, much to Homer's horror. At first, Homer and Evelyn acted coldly to each other due to Homer and Patty's distaste for each other. However, during a meal, Homer and Evelyn were both watching the Omaha Cornhole International on their phones. Upon realizing they both enjoyed it, they started to bond due to their many similarities.

The next day, the rest of the attendees decided to go shopping. Homer and Evelyn decided to stay behind at the beach. When everyone returned, they found the villa was a mess and monkeys were everywhere, as Evelyn and Homer had both gotten drunk. After this incident, Marge asked Homer to stop spending time with Evelyn so they could have a decent vacation...
