Green Day were the band who played at a concert on a barge floating in Lake Springfield. Green Day was playing their own version of The Simpsons theme. When they were done, they were tired of playing so long so they began to talk about the environment. Everybody was upset and started throwing litter at them. Most of the litter missed them and polluted the lake, causing the barge to dissolve and sink. While they play (on violins) "Nearer My God To Thee" for the last time, (a reference to to Titanic), killing them. At their funerals, in Springfield, the organist plays American Idiot (Funeral Version).
