History

During the grand opening of Lard Lad Donuts, Homer Simpson stole the colossal donut displayed atop the restaurant's giant mascot, triggering a chain of events that led to a mysterious ionic disturbance bringing Springfield's giant advertising mascots to life. Among them was the giant Tam o' Shanter Tax Preparation mascot, which joined the other living advertisements in rampaging through Springfield. The crisis ended when the city's residents stopped paying attention to the living advertisements, causing the mascots to lose their power and collapse.
