After arriving in Springfield as a judge for the Springfield Film Festival, film critic Jay Sherman had dinner with the Simpson family. During the meal, Sherman boasted about his career achievements, revealing that he had won two Pulitzer Prizes, five Golden Globe Awards, an Emmy Award, and a People's Choice Awards, with several of the trophies hidden inside his clothing. Wanting to compete, Homer Simpson showed off the trophy he had won in a Belching Contest, but Sherman impressed everyone with an even louder belch, leading Bart Simpson to give Homer’s trophy to Jay.[2]
