History

During the grand opening of Lard Lad Donuts, Homer Simpson stole the colossal donut displayed atop the restaurant's giant mascot, triggering a chain of events that led to a mysterious ionic disturbance bringing Springfield's giant advertising mascots to life. As the mascots rampaged through the city, the enormous Paul Bunyan Vision Center figure emerged alongside Babe, his giant blue ox, causing widespread destruction before the creatures were ultimately defeated when Springfield's residents stopped paying attention to the living advertisements, causing them to lose their power and collapse.
