Ned Flanders in Verti-Go-Areeno is a Simpsons Comics story first printed in Simpsons Comics #115.
Plot
Ned considers buying a new carpet on Floorcovering Bonzaa Days, but the rugs make him dizzy, so he doesn't buy a carpet. He goes with Rod and Todd to I've Got The Shakes!, and tells them that he tried to fill their mother's job but it's not so easy to fill her shoes. When he drinks his shakes, he sees Maude drive past in a green car. This causes Ned to feel more dizzy and he starts yelling "Maude".
The next day he decides to talk with Homer. He believes he is losing his mind but Homer realizes that he cannot help him, but he knows who can. Homer takes Ned to Moe's, where he tells the guests that he saw Maude yesterday and now he believes that she has a doppelganger. Homer and the other customers persuade Ned to find Maude's doppelganger. Homer and Ned go to the place he saw her last time, and while they drink their shakes Maude's Doppelganger drives around again and they start to follow her. She goes into Buy More, and Ned does not dare talk to her but Homer convinces him to do it. Just as Ned is about to start talking to her, he sees her shoplifting in the store and realizes that he must stop her.
Ned begins to root around in the doppelganger's purse and tell her that he is protecting her from herself, but she knocks out Ned after he manages to take back what she stole: a watch. Ned is arrested for stealing, but it is soon revealed to be a misunderstanding. The woman stumbles over Homer, who is lying on the ground, when Moe comes by with his car and asks her to get in the car. Moe and the doppelganger drive away and get chased by the police. Ned feels silly for thinking that anyone could replace Maude, but he tells Homer that maybe the goodwill of this is that the carbon copy of Maude is on the path to a better life. In the car, Moe says that they're going to Mexico. The Maude doppelganger then asks who Maude is.
