• This episode is a parody of the popcorn brand "Screaming Yellow Zonkers".
• When Chief Wiggum pulls Marge over, he calls her "Thelma and Louise," referencing the 1991 movie Thelma & Louise.
• When Homer, Lisa and Bart are running from the rhinos, Homer shouts 'Jumanji' and expects the rhinos to stop, referencing the movie "Jumanji"

• When all the teachers and staff members come out on stage for the musical in the beginning, there are 9 people, when they form a pyramid there are 10 people.
