The Simpsons: Tapped Out Monorail content update was teased on August 7, 2015, on the official Facebook page for The Simpsons: Tapped Out, with a silhouette picture of Monorail Conductor Homer. It was released in August 11, 2015.

Other changes

August 11 update 1 (4.16.3;"4_16_Monorail")

• A new strip of land was added at the bottom of the map aand on the right.
• The ambience music was changed to a new one for the event.
• The app icon and splash screen were changed to new ones for the event.
• Springfield Heights upgradable buildings are no longer storable temporanely due to a glitch that allowed duplication and reset their level to 1.
• The icons to hide roads, pavements, water, characters, buildings and decorations now have an icon to open and close their menu, and they were moved upwards instead of going left, and a new icon was added to hide Monorail items.
• More coming soon.

August 11 update 2 ("4_16_Monorail_Patch1_PostLaunch")

• Fixed Conductor Homer's crash after starting Train of Fools.
