Cultural references
- One of the attractions listed on the map is a bobsled ride down "The Splatterhorn!" This is a reference to the Matterhorn Bobsleds, an attraction at Disneyland.
- The Matterhorn ride at Disneyland is in turn modeled after the Matterhorn, a mountain on the Pennine Alps.
- Slash Mountain is a reference to Splash Mountain.
- Scar Tours is a reference to Star Tours.
- The People Smoosher is most likely a reference to the PeopleMover, a former attraction at Disneyland. "People mover" is also a generic term for automated mass transit systems.
Continuity
- The attractions on the Holiday Wonderland map are nearly identical to the ones on the map for the Itchy & Scratchy Land theme park seen in the episode "Itchy & Scratchy Land". The difference is that the featured exhibits all have winter/holiday themes.
- Disgruntled Goat and Uncle Ant, two short-lived characters from The Itchy & Scratchy Show, were also previously seen in "Itchy & Scratchy Land".
- In Explosion Land, Bart and Lisa are wearing the same hockey uniforms as they did in "Lisa on Ice".
- The Matterhorn is also parodied as The Murderhorn, in the episode "King of the Hill".
