The Springfield Marathon commemorates an occasion on which Springfield ran across six states in order to avoid his creditors. Homer tried to compete onces in the Springfield Marathon which Bart won by cheating. Bart was later revealed as a cheater. The first prize is a walking tour of Springfield.
