Synopsis
In Mayan times, a Mayan Homer and Marge are witnesses to the prediction by ancient calendar makers that 2012 will be the end of the world. In "The Greatest Story Ever Holed", the Simpson family adopt a black hole; in "UNnormal Activity" the Simpsons install cameras all over the house when things start to go bump in the night; in "Bart & Homer's Excellent Adventure" Bart travels to 1974 to buy a comic book at cover price but inadvertently disrupts Homer and Marge's courtship.
Production
They planned to start the episode with the presidential elections again but changed it to the Maya Indians. The Black hole part was initially an idea for a regular episode. The idea of Bart travelling back in time came from James L. Brooks and the idea originally was Marge should fall in love with Bart.[2]
