The paper was originally conceived as a place to publish her poem dedicated to Geezer Rock. After Bart Simpson started selling subscriptions and most of the readers wanted more issues, they started the newspaper seriously. Lisa hired Nelson Muntz, Ralph Wiggum, Milhouse Van Houten, Richard, Rod Flanders, Janey Powell, Lewis, Bart Simpson and Martin Prince to join the journal.
After Lisa Simpson published a adverse article about Mr. Burns he tried to buy the paper by Lisa by offering Honeysuckle, Dewdrop and Sugarbell but she rejected the offer.
