References to Doctor Who in The Simpsons
- In "Sideshow Bob's Last Gleaming", a caricature-like version of the Doctor appears as a representative of television.
- In "Bart the Fink", Comic Book Guy states that he is watching a marathon of Doctor Who episodes.
- In "Springfield Up", Homer mistakes Declan Desmond for the Doctor, when stating "Check with me in 8 years, Doctor Who, I'll be kicking your ass with a golden boot!".
- In "Treehouse of Horror X", Comic Book Guy, under the guise of The Collector, has the Doctor concealed in plastic, along with many other "geek" show characters. He introduces the Doctor as "Doctor Who", the character's common nickname.
References to The Simpsons in Doctor Who
The Simpsons has also been commonly referenced on the revived series of Doctor Who.
- In "Planet of the Ood", one of the Ood's programming functions is 'classic comedy'. An Ood Operations worker says "Ood, you've dropped something.", to which the Ood replies "D'oh!".
- In "The End of Time", after the Doctor is rescued, he is strapped to a wheelchair. As he's pleading with his rescuers to unstrap him, they wheel him down a flight of stairs. Halfway down, he shouts "Worst! Rescue! EVER!" very much in the manner of Comic Book Guy and his catchphrase.
