The Regional ACE Awards ceremony was held at the Springfield Community Center and hosted by Dick Cavett. During the event, Homer Simpson appeared as a Krusty the Clown impersonator and presented the award for "Most Promising New Series on Cable" to the television program Starsky & Hutches, which was accepted by the son of the actor who had portrayed Huggy Bear in the original series.
Behind the Laughter[edit]
The ACE Awards were real entertainment industry awards presented from 1978 to 1997 by the National Academy of Cable Programming in the United States, recognizing achievements in cable television.
