- The comic strip is a parody of the Star Wars film Episode IV - A New Hope.
- The "Extra 'Special Edition' CGI Shot" is a reference to the 1997 Special Edition version of the film.
- When Scratchy screams in space, a text box says "In space, no one can hear you scream. But in this case, we'll make an exception." This is a reference to the tagline of the film Alien, "In space no one can hear you scream."
Continuity[edit]
- Itchy tells Scratchy "the forks is with you." This echoes a similar joke from the season 10 episode "Mayored to the Mob" where Mark Hamill told Homer to "use the forks."
