The Nuclear Testing Zone is a restricted area used for nuclear weapons experiments and is notable as the birthplace of Radioactive Man, first introduced in Radioactive Man #1.
History
A simple man is driving along an empty road. He steps out of his car and begins to walk as heavy clouds gather overhead. While crossing a fence, his pants get caught on barbed wire. A sign nearby warns: “Nuclear Testing Zone – Keep Out.”
Ignoring the danger, he ventures further until he sees a bomb. Suddenly, it explodes. The blast engulfs him, and he begins to change—his body glowing, his very being becoming radioactive. From that moment, he calls himself “Radioactive Man.”
