Plot

At the Dollar Troll, due to spending too much money on that night's party for her birthday, Marge is buying groceries with Lisa and Bart. Just as they come out, they try to hide from meeting Helen Lovejoy, coming out of the Snooty Smoothies, but she recognizes Marge and starts moking her for buying groceries there. They get home with Marge having a fit of rage all the way before storming upstairs. The kids and Homer try to imagine what she does to cool down as she does everytime and then Marge comes back down calm to start the party, a big one at that with celebrities, while kids are all cramped in the living room supervised by Shauna.

Everyone congratulate her on being the nicest woman in Springfield, including Quimby declaring it, and the next day, preparing for cleaning up, she finds out her secret box of hate letters was gone from the closet. She started writing them after finding an article on how to deal with people that made you angry. One of the people at the party last night is the thief and sends Marge a message on her phone requesting $5,000 to have them back or they'd show them to the world. To get help they try to ask the police but they're no help, so she thinks of paying the ransom, and comes to ask for help to Patty and Selma, but they laugh in her face and tell her to show emotions instead of restraining them.

The time is almost up, and when they get the call, Homer answers it threatening the thief instead of giving up. At the church, Helen reads one of the letters, but mistakenly things it was Agnes that wrote it and chaos starts. Another call is received and Marge has only one hour to pay, but due to the phrase the letter-napper says, she identifies it to be Shauna. She discovered her stash while browsing her closet for her clothes to try on, and conjured the letter-napping with Jimbo. Marge thinks of going to her home when she wasn't there, break in, and grab the letters, but Chalmers is there, so she improvises an interview for the PTA newsletter, while Homer breaks in.

She manages to hold on, even with Chalmers thinking she's flirting with him, with enough time for Homer to grab the box and get out, but in the car, they find out inside there're only novel books. They find Shauna and Jimbo on a motorcycle by the Retirement Castle and start following them, till they corner them. Marge keeps pursuing Shauna up emergency exit ladders to a rooftop. After explaining why she wrote the letters, Shauna gets too close to the edge and falls but Marge grabs her in time. She however has to choose between saving the letters or Shauna. She saves Shauna, who apologizes and the letters all fall down to the people.

The letters arrive to the people in town, that waere partecipating in a parade, including Tim Meadows. Marge comes up on a float and apologizes for hiding her sentiments over the years, and wants them to see her not as just a nice person, but one with feelings. At the store, she meets Helen, that despite appearing to have changed after reading the letter, she keeps being snarky, so Marge, after covering Maggie's ears, tells her to kiss her ass. In the end, Tim Meadows writes angry letters to Marge and other people and companies.
