The Springfield Meltdowns were a football team designed by Homer Simpson. His team won in being selected in a contest instead of L.A. Unfortunately, before the commissioner could open the team, he got lost, and was attacked by Abraham Simpson. When The other Simpsons arrived home, they found Abe with a golf club standing over the unconscious Commissioner. When he regained consciousness, he told Homer that Springfield would never have a NFL team.
