The Simpsons are drawn by rotoscoping, an animation technique used to produce realistic action and visual effects. Homer confuses "rotoscoped" with "Roto-Rootered", with Roto-Rooter being an American plumbing company. At the end, Bart is not comfortable with this type of animation and Lisa changes it to the traditional Simpsons style using the remote control.
